10 Of The Best Kakao Emoticons

10 Of The Best Kakao Emoticons

If you want to stay socially connected in South Korea, the mobile application ‘Kakao Talk‘ is the (if not only), tool you’ll need. This instant messaging service dominates the communication market, and now people have grown very naturally attached to Kakao. The free emoticons which come installed with the application are extremely useful when words fail to completely express your emotions.

The 7 cartoon emoticons, collectively called ‘Kakao Friends’ are probably the most commonly used emoticons in South Korea. The characters include a white duck called Tube/튜브, a brown dog called Frodo/프로도, who is dating the blue cat Neo/니오, a yellow rabbit called Muzi/뮤지, his tiny green lizard called Con/콘, a peach head called Apeach/에이피치 and a bear with a huge afro called Jay-G/제이지. The popularity of the gang has lead to their own merchandise including food, electronics and make-up.
